Capriccio label's "Premiere Portraits" series releases the first albums of young talented performers. This time it is a recital album by a young Korean, Franziska Lee. She studied music in Seoul, where she received the highest grade in her university year, and in 2011 received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange to study in Germany, where she graduated from the Karlsruhe College of Music. In addition to performing concerts around the world, Lee is actively involved in teaching younger musicians. In this album, Lee performs modern and contemporary French works. He performs Dutilleux's "Piano Sonata," known for its fluid melody and layered harmony, as well as works by Poulenc, Francais, and Sancan, known as the teacher of the famous pianist Jean-Philippe Collard, all with a delicate touch.
