This is the second release of the "Sony Classical Masterpieces Collection 1000". Franz Liszt, a leading virtuoso pianist of the Romantic era, boldly arranged Beethoven's symphonies for piano performance, making it possible to express a variety of orchestral sounds on a single piano. This is a recording of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 "Destiny," which was transformed into a major piano work by the brilliant 20th century Canadian pianist, Glenn Gould, between 1967 and 1968.
